Description
AX20017, a small-molecule protein kinase G (PknG) inhibitor (IC50: 0.39 μM), functions by inhibiting the proliferation of M. tuberculosis.

In vitro
The inhibitory activity of AX20017 against the 11 known mycobacterial kinases revealed that the compound is highly selective for PknG . To test the activity of the inhibitor toward eukaryotic kinases, a screen of 28 different archetypical human kinases originating from six major protein kinase groups was set up. AX20017 did not affect the human kinases, whereas the activity of PknG was effectively inhibited[1].
