Description
Ac-VLPE-FMK, a tetrapeptidyl mono-fluoromethyl ketone (m-FMK), inhibits Cathepsin B (Cat-B) and Cathepsin L (Cat-L) and is used in cancer aggressiveness research [1] [2].
In vitro
Ac-VLPE-FMK (2 μM) significantly affects the cleavage of the probe Ac-PLVQ-AMC by recombinant human CtsB and L [1], while inhibiting fluorescence from substrate cleavage in 769-p and A498 cells after 30 minutes [1]. Although Ac-VLPE-FMK (2.5-250 μM; 24-72 h) does not affect renal cancer cell viability, it alters cell migration rate, adhesion, colony formation, and marker expression [1].
