Vitamin B12a hydrochloride (Hydroxocobalamin hydrochloride) is the natural active form of vitamin B12 and is an essential water-soluble vitamin.It is commonly used as a cyanide detoxifier and nutritional supplement, and can be administered by injection, inhalation, or orally.
In vivo
In CPB-related vasoplegic shock, Vitamin B12a hydrochloride was given intravenously (5–10 g, single dose). In 24 patients, it increased blood pressure within 30 minutes and reduced the need for vasopressors[1].
