Description
Thymosin β4 (Tβ4) is a thymic hormone with multiple and different intracellular and extracellular activities affecting wound healing, inflammation, fibrosis and tissue regeneration.
In vitro
Thymosin b4 can stimulate migration of cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells and promotes survival of cardiomyocytes. The LIM domain protein PINCH18 and ILK19, both of which are necessary for cell migration and survival, formed a complex with thymosin b4 that resulted in phosphorylation of the survival kinase Akt.
In vivo
Treatment of adult mice with thymosin b4 after coronary ligation resulted in increased phosphorylation of Akt in the heart, enhanced early myocyte survival and improved cardiac function.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
