Description
TD-5471 is a potent and selective full agonist of the human β2 adrenergic receptor.
In vitro
TD-5471 acts slowly in an in vitro guinea pig trachea model but exhibits strong efficacy. In the guinea pig tracheal ring test, TD-5471 has a pEC50 of 8.7. Structurally distinct from Milveterol, TD-5471's prolonged action duration aligns with the hydrophobicity observed in other long-acting β2-agonist research projects.
In vivo
TD-5471 demonstrates a dose-dependent and prolonged pharmacological effect in a bronchoprotection model in guinea pigs. It exhibits excellent efficacy in this model, specifically observed 1.5 hours after aerosol administration. The bronchoprotective effect mediated by TD-5471 persists for up to 72 hours, exhibiting a clear dose-dependence.
