Description	Melarsomine dihydrochloride, a trivalent arsenical compound, is used as an adulticide for the treatment of canine heartworm disease and other helminth infections, and is also utilized for research purposes in the study of these conditions.
In vivo	Melarsomine (2.5 mg/kg; deep i.m. injection) combined with Doramectin effectively cleared D. repens infection in dogs[1], while Melarsomine (0.25 mg/kg; deep i.m. injection) cured T. evansi infection in camels[2], and Melarsomine (0.5 mg/kg; deep i.m. injection) cured T. evansi infection in dairy cattle in Thailand[2].
