D-(-)-3-Phosphoglyceric acid disodium (3-Phospho-D-glyceric acid disodium) is an intermediate in glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and the biosynthesis of serine, glycine, and threonine, competitively inhibiting yeast enolase. It also functions as an intermediate in biosynthetic pathways in plants, eukaryotes, and prokaryotes.

| In vitro | D-(-)-3-Phosphoglyceric acid disodium competitively inhibits yeast enolase. The enzyme-Mg2+ complex was thermally titrated with 3-phosphoglyceric acid. The heat absorbed when 3-phosphoglyceric acid binds to enolase has been measured in Tris, in Hepes, and in Pipes at the same enzyme, metal, and inhibitor concentrations[1]. |
