| Description | BODIQPy-TPA is a lipophilic probe that induces ferroptosis in B16 and HepG2 cells upon light irradiation through lipid peroxidation. It exhibits a maximum absorption wavelength of 488 nm and a maximum emission wavelength above 640 nm [1]. |
| In vitro | BODIQPy-TPA (5 μM) exhibits phototoxic effects on B16 cells under blue LED light exposure with an IC50 of 0.51 μM, demonstrating ferrostatin dependency and reducing ferritin heavy polypeptide 1 (FTH1) expression [1]. Upon light exposure, it also increases triglyceride (TG) levels and decreases phosphatidylcholine (PC) levels [1]. In a cell viability assay, BODIQPy-TPA inhibited B16 cell viability at concentrations ranging from 0-50 μM after 48 hours, with decreased cytotoxicity in the presence of ferrostatin [1]. Western blot analysis showed decreased FTH1 levels in B16 cells at a concentration of 5 μM after 48 hours [1]. |
