2-O-trans-p-Coumaroylalphitolic acid (Zj7), a triterpene sourced from jujube plants, functions as a selective modulator of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). This compound holds potential for use in obesity research [1].
In vivo
Administered at a dose of 50 mg/kg via intraperitoneal injection daily for two weeks, 2-O-trans-p-Coumaroylalphitolic acid shows anti-obesity effects in both high-fat diet-induced obese (DIO) mice and db/db mice [1]. The compound also improves insulin sensitivity and reduces the expression of Agrp, Npy, and Cdkn1a in the ARC.
