| Description | 10-Hydroxypheophorbide A is a chlorophyll-related compound found in the leaves of Neptunia oleracea. It inhibits Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) activation mediated by tumor inducers and exhibits photoinduced cytotoxicity against cancer cells. |
| In vitro | 10-Hydroxypheophorbide A (Compound 6) effectively inhibits the activation of EBV in Raji cells that is induced by teleocidin B-4, with an IC 50 of 18 μM. Within the concentration range of 0.05 to 50 μM, its inhibitory activity increases with concentration. The compound exhibits photocytotoxicity against Raji cells, showing non-irradiated pLC 50 at 4.92 and irradiated pLC 50 at 7.06, indicating that light exposure enhances its cytotoxic effect. Additionally, at a concentration of 50 μM, 10-Hydroxypheophorbide A accelerates the photoprotected peroxidation of ethyl linoleate in cell-free systems, reaching an OD 532 value of 0.426 after 30 hours of irradiation. In contrast, its inhibitory effect on EBV activation in Raji cells at 0.5 μM is not significantly enhanced by light, with inhibition rates of 0 ± 3% in the dark and 2 ± 8% under illumination. |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 µL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
