In vitro | Tubulin polymerization-IN-24 (compound HMBA) effectively impedes the assembly of purified, microtubule-associated proteins-free tubulin in a concentration-dependent manner, as evidenced by the inhibition of MCF-7 cell proliferation with an IC50 value of 47 nM and the competitive obstruction of colchicine binding to tubulin, demonstrating a K i of 3.6 μM. Additionally, it disrupts the mitotic progression of MCF-7 cells, leading to p53 pathway-mediated apoptotic cell death [1]. |
