Description
Thevetiaflavone (2-Genistein-5-methyl ether) is a natural flavonoid from Wikstroemia indica that inhibits the leakage of lactate dehydrogenase from the cytoplasm and increases cell viability.
In vitro
Thevetiaflavone reduces ROS overproduction and ameliorates ROS-mediated mitochondrial dysfunction, including collapse of mitochondrial membrane potential and opening of mitochondrial permeability transition pores, thereby reducing intracellular Ca2+ levels. Thevetiaflavone up-regulates the expression of Bcl-2, down-regulates the expression of Bax and caspase-3 and increases the activity of caspase-3 to inhibit the apoptosis of PC12 cells[1].

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
