| Description | Omzotirome (TRC150094) is a functional analog of iodothyronines and holds potential for research on hyperlipidemia (WO2008149379). |
| In vivo | Omzotirome (0.750 mg/100 g; i.p.) administration in male Wistar rats (8 weeks old) on a high-fat diet (HFD) markedly reduces visceral adipose tissue compared to HFD counterparts, simultaneously altering metabolism in two metabolically active major tissues. This results in enhanced energy expenditure and fatty acid oxidation, culminating in body weight gain similar to rats fed a standard chow. Omzotirome acts as a functional analog of iodothyronines, effectively decreasing adiposity by boosting metabolic rates in response to a high-fat dietary intake[1]. |
