| In vitro | IX 207-887 is a novel antiarthritic agent that does not affect human monocyte adherence or significantly inhibit IL-1 or IL-2-induced thymocyte proliferation. It lacks IL-1 antagonistic activity in chondrocyte tests but effectively inhibits IL-1 release from human monocytes and mouse peritoneal macrophages, significantly reducing both biologically active and immunoreactive IL-1 in culture media, while IL-1 levels in homogenates or lysates remain largely unchanged or slightly reduced. |
