Bioactivity

Description	6'-O-Cinnamoylharpagide has anti-inflammatory activity.
In vitro	Six known compounds: cinnamic acid (1), harpagoside, (2), 8-O-(cis-cinnamoyl)harpagide (3), acteoside (4), isoacteoside (5), and 6'-O-Cinnamoylharpagide (6) were isolated from the roots of Harpagophytum procumbens. The chemical structures of these compounds were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analyses including 2D NMR. Their anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated against LPS-induced NO production in macrophage RAW264.7 cells.
