| In vitro | 4-isopropylcatechol (4-IPC), a potent, irreversible cutaneous depigmenting agent,?on protein biosynthesis of malignant melanoma cells in mice was studied by examining the in vitro amino acid (leucine) incorporation into a microsome fraction in cell sap. The present study revealed that 4-IPC does not inhibit the protein biosynthesis of the cell-free system in mouse liver, but remarkably inhibits it in mouse melanoma cells,?which contain a high level of tyrosinase.?The enhanced inhibition was found also in the mouse liver cell-free system when tyrosinase was added.?Air oxidation products of 4-IPC were not responsible for such inhibition[1]?. |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 μL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
