Description
P-gp-IN-31 is an inhibitor of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) with IC50 values of 0.42 μM for KB cells and 0.43 μM for MDR KBvin cells. This compound effectively overcomes P-gp mediated drug efflux, exhibiting collateral sensitivity through P-gp downregulation. P-gp-IN-31 inhibits cell proliferation, induces apoptosis (apoptosis), and arrests the cell cycle in the G2/M phase. It is applicable in cancer research, particularly for multidrug-resistant (MDR) malignancies.
In vitro
P-gp-IN-31 (Compound 12n) (1-2 μM, 24 h) induces apoptosis in KB and KBvin cells and arrests the cell cycle at the G2/M phase. Additionally, at concentrations of 0.1-0.25 μM, P-gp-IN-31 restores the chemosensitivity of KBvin cells to paclitaxel. At 0.25 μM over 24 hours, it reduces the expression of P-glycoprotein in KBvin cells.
