Mitobronitol (Myelobromol; DBM) is a brominated analog of mannitol and an anticancer agent classified as an alkylating agent. Mitobronitol exhibits myelosuppressive effects, significantly reducing the risk of several complications in allogeneic bone marrow transplantation for accelerated chronic granulocytic leukemia [1] [2].

Mitobronitol (850 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) enhances spleen cell proliferation in response to mitogens and promotes thymus regeneration in an 8-10 week-old female BALB-c mouse model. Administered intraperitoneally at 850 mg/kg and 1500 mg/kg in 5% Tween 80 saline, the compound significantly improved spleen cell proliferation at 850 mg/kg and expedited thymus regeneration at 1500 mg/kg, achieving notable regeneration within 3 weeks, outperforming the control group.
