Description
KIT-13 is an orally active acetal phospholipid derivative that effectively inhibits neuroinflammation and addresses mitochondrial DNA leakage issues associated with Mecp2 deficiency. It significantly alleviates neurological symptoms and prolongs lifespan in Rett Syndrome (RTT) model mice. KIT-13 is valuable for research in RTT and other neuroinflammation-related conditions.
In vitro
KIT-13 (5-10 g/mL, 48 h, BV2 cells) enhances mitochondrial function impaired by Mecp2 gene deletion and restores mitochondrial membrane potential in Mecp2-knockdown BV2 cells through PK11195 treatment.
In vivo
KIT-13 (20 μg/kg, p.o., administered daily for one week) ameliorates neurological symptoms in RTT mice and restores the morphology of healthy microglia in brain tissue. Additionally, KIT-139 (administered orally for two weeks, daily) alleviates social and anxiety-like behavioral abnormalities in RTT model mice.
