Description
Hericenone C (Hericium erinaceus ketone C) is a natural product and α-glucosidase inhibitor, which can be used for biochemical experiments and drug synthesis.
In vitro
Methods: RAW264.7 cells were treated with Hericenone C (40 μM, before formalin administration) to investigate the role of Hericenone C in formalin-induced nociceptive behavior.
Results: Formalin induced the mRNA expression of the inflammatory cytokine Il-6, while Hericenone C significantly inhibited its expression. [1]
In vivo
Methods: The antinociceptive effect of Hericenone C was evaluated by intraperitoneal injection (2.5, 5, 10 mg/kg, before formalin injection).
Results: Hericenone C pretreatment inhibited the total duration of pain-related behaviors in the second phase of formalin-induced nociception in a dose-dependent manner and showed a significant effect. [1]

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
