Description
(E)-Ethyl cinnamate is a volatile substance isolated from Spondias mombin Linn., used in various industries.
In vitro
(E)-Ethyl cinnamate inhibited high K and deoxyadrenaline (PE) -induced tetanic contraction in a concentration-dependent manner with IC50 values of 0.30 mM and 0.38 mM, respectively.
(E)-Ethyl cinnamate (0-80 μM) significantly inhibited the colony-forming ability of colon cancer cells HT29 and SW480 in a concentration-dependent manner.
In vivo
(E)-Ethyl cinnamate (15mg/kg/d, 30mg/kg/d, 60 mg/kg/d) inhibited tumor growth and angiogenesis in HT29 nude mouse colonic cancer xenograft model, and hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity were not detected. [3]
