Anti-CD36 Antibody is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD36 (Fatty Acid Translocase/FAT). CD36 is a multi-ligand scavenger receptor widely expressed on monocytes/macrophages, platelets, endothelial cells, and adipocytes, facilitating the uptake of long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) and the binding of oxidized low-density lipoproteins (oxLDL). By specifically binding to CD36, this antibody blocks fatty acid transport or inhibits oxLDL-induced foam cell formation, making it a valuable tool for research in metabolic disorders (e.g., atherosclerosis, diabetes) and cancer lipid metabolism.

Description
In vitro
Anti-CD36 Antibody effectively blocks the uptake of fatty acids (e.g., palmitate) and oxidized LDL in CD36-expressing tumor cells. In co-culture assays, it inhibits the metabolic adaptation of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and boosts the effector function of CD8+ T cells by disrupting lipid uptake [1][2].
In vivo
In orthotopic mouse models of human oral cancer and melanoma, systemic administration of neutralizing Anti-CD36 Antibody almost completely inhibits the initiation of metastasis without affecting primary tumor growth significantly. The treatment targets metastasis-initiating cells and modulates the lipid metabolic environment of the tumor [1].
