In vitro
GW 766994 (10 μM) counteracts CCL11-induced CDK5 activation, CDK5 and GSK3β phosphorylations, and the heightened phosphorylation of tau in hippocampal neurons. As a specific chemokine receptor-3 (CCR3) antagonist, GW 766994 has progressed to clinical trials for the treatment of asthma and eosinophilic bronchitis.
