| Description | Alpha-Toxicarol is a rotenoid with anticancer and insecticidal activities. It induces oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction, used for natural product and cytotoxicity research. |
| In vitro | Alpha-Toxicarol was evaluated for its ability to induce quinone reductase (QR) using cultured Hepa 1c1c7 cells. Results demonstrated significant QR inductive activity with a CD value (concentration required to double the activity) of 1.2 uM. Additionally, in cytotoxicity assays against various human cancer cell lines, the compound exhibited selective growth inhibitory effects, supporting its role as a chemopreventive lead. |
