| Description | Unoprostone is a prostaglandin F2α analogs (PGAs), and reduces intraocular pressure and is used topically for glaucoma or ocular hypertension. |
| In vitro | Pretreatment with Unoprostone (0.01, 0.1, 1 μM; 1 hour before H2O2 treatment) prevents H2O2-induced cell death in a concentration-dependent manner, significantly at 0.1 μM and 1 μM concentrations[1]. Similarly, Unoprostone at 0.1 to 3 μM prevents light-induced cell death, significantly at 1 and 3 μM, reduces morphological changes, and inhibits light-induced low mitochondrial membrane potential and cell death[1]. Unoprostone also exhibits binding affinity to prostaglandin F2α receptors (FP) with a Ki of 3.86 μM[2]. |

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO stock solution to 400 μL PEG300 and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2O and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
