Description | Tranylcypromine (SKF 385), a potent monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor [1], is used in medicinal applications. |
In vivo | rel-Tranylcypromine (SKF 385) administered intravenously at doses ranging from 0.1 to 3.0 mg/kg in mongrel dogs weighing 5-10 kg induces an increase in blood pressure. The degree and longevity of the hypertensive effect are dose-dependent. However, repeated administration of rel-Tranylcypromine typically results in a depressor, or blood-lowering, response in these animals [1]. |
