| Description | MCPA sodium is an orally active phenoxyacetic acid herbicide (herbicide). It disrupts plant cell membrane integrity, energy metabolism (reducing ATP levels), and redox balance. MCPA sodium increases liver cytochrome P-450 levels and enhances the activities of aniline hydroxylase and 7-ethoxycoumarin O-deethylase. MCPA sodium is used to control broadleaf weeds. |
| In vitro | MCPA (50 μM) sodium is absorbed by Caco-2 cells primarily through the monocarboxylate transporter shared with benzoic acid, with partial absorption via L-lactic acid. Additionally, MCPA (20-120 μM; 4 weeks) sodium can inhibit the growth of non-green potato tuber callus, disrupt membrane integrity, reduce energy charge, and affect redox state and antioxidant enzyme activity. |
| In vivo | MCPA (200 mg/kg/day; oral; 2 weeks) sodium enhances cytochrome P-450 levels and the activities of aniline hydroxylase and 7-ethoxycoumarin O-deethylase in the liver of male rats. MCPA (14 C-MCPA; 5-100 mg/kg; oral; single or multiple doses) sodium is rapidly absorbed in rats, primarily excreted in urine, and metabolized to a limited extent into HMCPA and glycine conjugates. |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 µL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
