| Description | KS 619-1 is a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (phosphodiesterase) inhibitor. It strongly inhibits this enzyme derived from bovine brain and heart, while exhibiting weak inhibition on non-calmodulin-dependent phosphodiesterases and protein kinase C (PKC). KS 619-1 also shows weak antibacterial activity against [Staphylococcus aureus]. |
| In vitro | KS 619-1 is a potent inhibitor of Ca²⁺/calmodulin-stimulated bovine brain CaM-PDE with an IC₅₀ of 2.0 μM. It also strongly inhibits Ca²⁺/calmodulin-activated bovine heart CaM-PDE, showing an IC₅₀ of 1.5 μM. In the presence of EGTA, KS 619-1 exhibits weak inhibition of basal bovine brain CaM-PDE activity, with an IC₅₀ of 12.3 μM. It mildly inhibits the calmodulin-independent PDE activity in bovine cardiac muscle, with an IC₅₀ of 25.9 μM. The compound shows very weak inhibitory action on rat brain protein kinase C activity, with an IC₅₀ of 151 μM. At a concentration of 50 μg/mL, KS 619-1 demonstrates only weak antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus KY 4779. |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 µL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
