Description
Factor B-IN-6 is an orally bioavailable inhibitor of Factor B. It exhibits significant inhibitory activity on the activation of the human serum alternative pathway. In model animals, Factor B-IN-6 can improve kidney lesions and function, reducing urinary protein levels. Factor B-IN-6 is applicable for kidney disease research.
In vitro
Factor B-IN-6 (Compound 4B) exhibits significant inhibitory activity on the activation of the human serum alternative pathway, with an IC50 of 40.7 nM.
In vivo
Compound 4B, known as Factor B-IN-6, administered at doses of 5-60 mg/kg twice daily with an 8-hour interval for 14 days, can reduce urinary egg content and improve renal function in a passive Heyman nephritis rat model.
