Bioactivity

Description	BIM-23190 is a somatostatin analog that acts as a selective agonist for SSTR2 and SSTR5 receptors. It displays potency with K i values of 0.34 nM and 11.1 nM for SSTR2 and SSTR5, respectively. BIM-23190 finds utility in cancer and acromegaly research.
In vitro	BIM-23190 mildly stimulates PRL secretion [1].
In vivo	BIM-23190, administered at a dosage of 50 μg per mouse twice daily, demonstrated notable anti-tumor activity against C6 glioma in a study involving male athymic nude (nu/nu) mice aged 5-6 weeks. Over a 19-day period, the injections significantly reduced the growth rate of the tumors.
