3-Amino-5-hydroxybenzoic acid-13C is the 13C-labeled version of 3-Amino-5-hydroxybenzoic acid. This compound, also known as AHBA, serves as a biosynthetic precursor to the mC7N unit of ansamycin class antibiotics, including ansamitocin and geldanamycin, as well as the antitumor antibiotic mitomycin C. It is likely derived from an early intermediate in the shikimic acid pathway originating from glucose.
