1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (16:1 PE) is a phosphatidylethanolamine that can enhance the activities of PP2A and PTP1B in malignant pleural mesothelioma cells. Additionally, 1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine induces apoptosis in NCI-H28 malignant pleural mesothelioma cells.

Description | 1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (16:1 PE) is a phosphatidylethanolamine that can enhance the activities of PP2A and PTP1B in malignant pleural mesothelioma cells. Additionally, 1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine induces apoptosis in NCI-H28 malignant pleural mesothelioma cells. |
In vitro | 1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DPPE; 1-100 μM; 24-48 hours) reduces the viability of NCI-H28 cells in a concentration-dependent manner (1-100 μM), with no impact on Met5A (non-malignant mesothelial cells) [1]. Additionally, DPPE (100 μM; 10-60 minutes) tends to attenuate the activity of ERK1/ERK2 [1]. Moreover, DPPE (30-100 μM; 48 hours) significantly increases TUNEL-positive NCI-H28 cells, indicating apoptosis, with minimal effects on Met5A [1]. |
