Description	Sulfobetaine-12 (Zwittergent 3-12 Detergent) is a zwitterionic surfactant, dispersant and emulsifier commonly used in industry.
In vitro	In cell culture, Sulfobetaine-12 can be used as a surfactant to help reduce the surface tension of liquids and promote uniform cell distribution and growth. It also reduces cell-to-cell adhesion, allowing for easier cell separation and passaging. In enzymatic studies, Sulfobetaine-12 can help stabilize the structure of enzymes to prevent inactivation during storage or experimental procedures. It can prolong the life of an enzyme by providing a mild environment to maintain the active conformation of the enzyme. [1]
