Uridine diphosphate glucuronic acid (UDP-GlcA) trisodium is a cofactor formed by the catalytic activity of UDP-glucose dehydrogenase. It contains an Azide group, enabling it to undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAc) with molecules that have Alkyne groups. Additionally, it can participate in strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
