| Description | Terbufibrol reduces the levels of serum total cholesterol in normal and hypercholesterolemic male rats. |
| In vivo | Terbufibrol (20-200 mg/kg) reduces serum TC in animals on all three diets, with cholesterol reduction percentages of 154%, 80%, and 70% for cholesterol, high protein, and fat diets, respectively. It also lowers HDL, HDL-TC, LDL, LDL-TC, and LDL-TC/PL in animals fed an HPF-diet, with LDL-TC reduction being dose-dependent. Clofibrate (200 mg/kg) lowers HDL and HDL-TC while increasing LDL[1]. |
