Description
Tat-NTS peptide is a cell-penetrating peptide with neuroprotective properties. It specifically inhibits the nuclear translocation of ANXA1, reducing neuronal apoptosis (apoptosis) in ischemic areas. Additionally, Tat-NTS peptide can decrease the volume of cerebral ischemic infarction, making it useful for research on ischemic stroke.
In vitro
Tat-NTS peptide (20 μM) inhibits the nuclear translocation of ANXA1 in neuronal cells without affecting the nuclear migration of other proteins. Additionally, it prevents the interaction between ANXA1 and p53, reducing neuronal apoptosis induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R), thereby offering neuroprotective effects. The peptide significantly improves the viability of neuronal cells following OGD/R.
In vivo
Tat-NTS peptide (0.5-10 mg/kg; ICV; single dose) reduces the interaction between ANXA1 and importin β in C57BL/6 mice with middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and inhibits the nuclear translocation of ANXA1 in vivo. It exhibits neuroprotective effects against neuronal apoptosis following ischemic injury in mice with brain ischemia.
