Description S-F24 is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that demonstrates potent inhibition of CYP3A4, with an IC50 of 0.4 μM. It exhibits a favorable safety profile, characterized by high selectivity, minimal hemolytic effects, and a reduced propensity for resistance development. S-F24 is useful for fungal infection research [1].
In vitro S-F24 exhibits low cytotoxicity towards mammalian cells at concentrations of 10-30 μM over 48 hours [1]. Additionally, an 8-fold increase in the MIC80 value against C. albicans SC5314 was observed when treated with S-F24 at 0.002 μg/mL over 20 passages [1]. Moreover, S-F24 at a concentration of 0.004 μg/mL for 16 hours inhibited ergosterol synthesis in C. albicans SC5314 by 92.03% [1].
In vivo S-F24 (1.5 mg/kg, i.p., once daily for 5 days) was extensively used to treat invasive fungal infections caused by C. albicans SC5314, A. fumigatus CGMCC3.7795, and resistant C. albicans 24D in female IRC mice [1]. Additionally, S-F24 at dosages of 0.5 and 1 mg/kg, administered intraperitoneally once daily for 5 days, was highly effective in inhibiting C. albicans SC5314 skin infections in female IRC mice [1].
