Description	S55746 hydrochloride is a potent, orally active and selective inhibitor of BCL-2(Ki of 1.3 nM and a Kd of 3.9 nM),with antitumor activity with low toxicity.

In vitro	S55746 selectively induces apoptosis through BCL-2 inhibition in a BAX/BAK-dependent manner.S55746 (0-1 μM) potently and selectively induces cell death.
In vivo	S55746 is a highly efficacious and well-tolerated BCL-2 inhibitor, orally active even at doses up to 300 mg/kg. In RS4 and Toledo models, S55746 (20-100 mg/kg, p.o.) inhibits xenograft growth in a time- and dose-dependent manner.
