| Description | POBN (4-POBN) is a hydrophilic trapping agent permeable to cells, useful for detecting radical adducts. |
| In vitro | When POBN (20 mM) and sodium formate (100 mM) are mixed with bile in the collection tube in the presence of 2,2'-bipyridine (DP) (5 mM) and bathocuproine disulfonic acid disodium salt hydrate (BC) (5 mM), only a faint residual signal of POBN radical adducts was detected. |
| In vivo | After administering acute doses of sodium formate (2 g/kg) and POBN (1.5 g/kg) via intraperitoneal injection, the electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra of radical adducts were detected in the bile of rats one hour post-administration. |
