Description
HK-2-IN-1 is an inhibitor of Hexokinase 2 (HK-2). It exhibits non-activation effects on human recombinant HK-2 enzyme. HK-2-IN-1 possesses antitumor activity, impacting immune cells within the tumor microenvironment. It has immunomodulatory properties and is applicable in research on cancers such as colon cancer, liver cancer, and breast cancer.
In vitro
HK-2-IN-1 (Compound 20) demonstrates cytotoxic effects against HCT-116, HepG2, 4T1, and MCF7 cells after 48 hours at concentrations between 50-1000 μM, with IC50 values of 22.04 μM, 21.19 μM, 54.69 μM, and 192.3 μM, respectively, while exhibiting no cytotoxicity towards healthy fibroblasts.
In vivo
The compound HK-2-IN-1 (Compound 20), administered at a dosage of 5 mg/kg intraperitoneally once a day for 4 weeks, inhibits tumor growth and metastasis in mice with 4T1 tumors.
