Description | Diapocynin (Dehydrodiacetovanillone), a dimer of Apocynin, acts as an orally administered inhibitor of NADPH oxidase. It exhibits anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and antioxidant properties [1]. |
In vivo | Diapocynin (300 mg/kg; orally; once every 12 hours for a duration of 72 hours) significantly attenuated motor deficits induced by DFP and reduced epileptiform spike activity within the first 72 hours post-DFP exposure. Furthermore, diapocynin markedly decreased DFP-induced reactive astrocytosis, neurodegeneration, GP91phox, glutathione levels, serum nitrate, and pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines such as interleukins (IL) IL-1α, IL-6, IL-2, IL-17A, leptin, and IP-10 [1]. |
