DHP-B exhibits anticancer properties and can induce apoptosis. It forms a covalent bond with the Cys96 of CPT1A, obstructing FAO and disrupting the interaction between mitochondrial CPT1A and vdac1. This results in increased mitochondrial permeability in CRC cells, along with reduced oxygen consumption and energy metabolism. DHP-B can be isolated from the plant Peperomia dindygulensis.
