Baminercept (BG 9924) is a lymphotoxin-β receptor-immunoglobulin fusion protein that blocks the lymphotoxin-α/LIGHT axis. Baminercept selectively binds to the ligand of the lymphotoxin-β receptor (LTβR), thereby blocking LTβR signaling and influencing the migration of immune cells. Baminercept also increases the number of lymphocytes in the blood and reduces plasma CXCL13 levels. Baminercept is being studied for the treatment of primary Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
