Description
[D-Pro2,D-Phe7,D-Trp9] Substance P, an analogue of Substance P, serves as an inhibitor to its parent compound and indirectly contracts the guinea-pig ileum (GPI) [1] [2].
In vitro
'[D-Pro2, D-Phe7, D-Trp9] Substance P (10-100 μM; 2 min or 10 min) elicited dose-dependent contractions in both the guinea pig ileum and the rabbit external jugular vein [1].'
In vivo
Administering '[D-Pro2,D-Phe7,D-Trp9] Substance P' intravenously at a dosage of 1-2 mg/kg once effectively inhibits Substance P-induced salivary secretion in rats. Within a lower dosage range of 1-1.5 mg/kg, it modestly elevates blood pressure.
