Description
7-oxo-Mogroside V is a cucurbitane-type triterpenoid saponin isolated from Siraitia grosvenorii fruits. It inhibits TPA-induced activation of EBV-EA (Epstein–Barr virus early antigen) and shows weak inhibitory effects on the activation of the nitric oxide donor NOR 1, with potential applications in oncology research.
In vitro
Methods: Raji cells were co-treated with 7-oxo-Mogroside V and TPA at different molar ratios to detect the activation of EBV-EA; Chang hepatocytes were treated with 350 nmol 7-oxo-Mogroside V to detect its inhibitory effect on NOR 1 activation.
Results:
1 7-oxo-Mogroside V (10–1000 mol ratio/32 pmol TPA) could inhibit TPA-induced EBV-EA activation in Raji cells, with an IC₅₀ of 400 mol ratio/32 pmol TPA.
2 7-oxo-Mogroside V (350 nmol) only exhibited a weak inhibitory effect on the activation of NOR 1 in Chang hepatocytes, with an inhibition rate of 1.4 [1].
