α-Glucosidase-IN-57 (Compound 10c) is a competitive, orally active α-glucosidase inhibitor with an IC50 of 0.180 μM and a Ki of 0.15 μM. It effectively reduces fasting and overall blood glucose levels in mice, making it suitable for antidiabetic research.

| Description | α-Glucosidase-IN-57 (Compound 10c) is a competitive, orally active α-glucosidase inhibitor with an IC50 of 0.180 μM and a Ki of 0.15 μM. It effectively reduces fasting and overall blood glucose levels in mice, making it suitable for antidiabetic research. |
| In vitro | α-Glucosidase-IN-57 (Compound 10c) is a potent competitive inhibitor of α-glucosidase, competing with the substrate p-NPG (1-16 μM) for the same active site at concentrations of 0, 0.045, 0.09, and 0.18 μM. |
| In vivo | In a study conducted with Wistar albino rats, α-Glucosidase-IN-57 (Compound 10c) demonstrated good tolerance and safety at doses of 250, 500, and 1000 mg/kg administered orally over 72 hours. Furthermore, oral administration of α-Glucosidase-IN-57 at doses of 10, 25, and 50 mg/kg once daily for 28 days showed antihyperglycemic effects in diabetic Wistar albino rats, evidenced by reductions in fasting blood glucose levels, improved glucose tolerance, and potential enhancement of pancreatic islet structure. |
