| In vitro | Voxvoganan trihydrochloride (LTX-109) is a chemically synthesized, first-in-class antimicrobial agent with a membrane-lysing mechanism similar to innate immune effector lytic peptides. It rapidly exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal effects targeting the cell walls of various S. aureus strains, including multidrug-resistant ones [2]. Topically applied, it has a favorable safety profile, minimal bioavailability, and is effective against both mupirocin-susceptible and -resistant Staphylococcus aureus [3]. |
