| Description | Olamufloxacin (HSR-903) is an orally active fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent. It exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Olamufloxacin can inhibit the growth of extracellular Legionella spp. bacteria and the intracellular growth of Legionella pneumophila. It reduces cytotoxicity caused by intracellular proliferation of Legionella pneumophila and increases the survival rate of guinea pigs infected with this bacterium, while also decreasing the bacterial load in their lungs. Olamufloxacin is used in the study of Legionnaires' disease. |
| In vitro | Olamufloxacin (2 days) exhibits potent in vitro inhibition of the growth of 81 Legionella spp. strains, with an MIC50 of 0.008 mg/L, MIC80 and MIC90 of 0.032 mg/L, and a geometric mean MIC of 0.0244 mg/L. Olamufloxacin (0.008-0.032 mg/L; 3 days) suppresses the intracellular growth of Legionella pneumophila SG1 80-045 in J774.1 macrophages. Additionally, olamufloxacin (0.004 mg/L; 72 h) inhibits the cytopathic effect of intracellular Legionella pneumophila SG1 80-045 on J774.1 macrophages. |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 µL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
