In vitro | MetAP1 operates effectively in the presence of various divalent cations and is most likely facilitated by iron (Fe 2+) as a cofactor [1]. The inhibitor MtMetAP1-IN-1 (compound 12), at a concentration of 12.5 μM, selectively inhibits MtMetAP1's activity across different metal catalysis, demonstrating residual activities of 51% with Co 2+, 21% with Ni 2+, and 33% with Fe 2+ [1]. Notably, MtMetAP1-IN-1 exhibits a strong affinity for Ni 2+, achieving inhibition of MtMetAP1 with an IC 50 value of 0.7 μM [1]. |
