Me-Tetrazine-Cyanine5 is a far-red fluorescent probe composed of a Cyanine5 (Cy5) fluorescent core and a methyl-tetrazine functional group. The methyl-tetrazine reacts rapidly and selectively with trans-cyclooctene (TCO)-modified biomolecules via inverse electron-demand Diels–Alder (IEDDA) chemistry without a catalyst under mild conditions. This dye is commonly applied in live-cell imaging, protein labeling, and drug-target tracking studies.
